Review of my stay at the China Kunyu Mountain Shaolin Martial arts Academy 

I am a returning student and I was originally planning to stay for 5 months in the Japan branch for training, but after 3 months I decided to come to China as I really wanted to train with Shifu Guo. 

 I feel that the training in general strengthens my body and mental. For me it creates a positive mindset and I feel the urge to move and train. For the particular courses I followed, they all have different benefits for me. I like the morning Taichi as it gives my body a slow way to wake up although the training is challenging. The power shifting is demanding and I feel that it strengthens my legs a lot. 

After a few months I can feel better how to shift my balance and how that can create power. The other optional class I participated in was Bagua. I think this might have been my favorite hour of the week. It also focuses on the internal power and the movements are really beautiful! Most of the time I trained with Master Guo and coach on Wingchun and Baji. I enjoy the combination of the 2 a lot. 

During the classes I learned a lot about the applications of certain moves and the combinations that they can be used in. I was able to learn 2 Wing chun forms during my stay in China and one Baji form. During my stay we had 3 monitors who helped Shifu Guo and Coach. In the beginning they helped me a lot to grasp the basics. During and sometimes after the classes coach and Master took time to correct and teach me. I could feel that they made sure to check on all the students and help us progress. 

 As I was a returning student I already knew about the daily life and what to expect. I feel very welcome in the school, if you are friendly all the staff will treat you with a lot of respect. I also had a lot of help form the translators when I needed it. 

 Last time when I was in Kunyu Mountain, it was wintertime, this time I was happy to experience spring. The flowers are really pretty and we were given time to enjoy them together. I like the surroundings of the school a lot, our Friday afternoon to the Temple and the mountain is one of my favorites! I could see that the school has invested in the buildings during the last years, there were a lot of improvements. Some students weren't always happy or appreciative of the facilities. But you should not expect a fancy resort when coming to a martial arts school. The weather is sometimes extreme and the training can be challenging during this time. The heat or cold can be challenging but for me it is part of the experience.

 I would love to come back one day again!

I've been here in the  Kunyu Mountain Shaolin Martial Arts Academy for 5 months now. And I'm studying Wing Chun and Tai Chi with Master Guo. 

I've been learning a lot of things. I think the place is amazing for learning Kung Fu, even if you don't have this experience or if you have a lot. Because the martial artists here really have a lot of knowledge. 

And I think it's a good place to improve yourself in physical and mental skills. And the place is around the mountains, so we go to run each Friday in the mountains. It's really nice. 

I think it's a really good place to learn a lot of Chinese martial arts.
