Life Beyond Kung Fu: Students Joined the 2026 Yantai International Cultural Exchange & Wine Tasting Event

Students from Kunyu Mountain Kung Fu School experienced Yantai's renowned wine culture while participating in the wine tasting session

May 29, 2026, students from Kunyu Mountain Kung Fu School participated in the Yantai International Social Mixer and Wine Tasting Event. The gathering brought together international guests and local residents for an evening of cultural exchange, friendship, food, and regional wine appreciation.

Yantai, the city we located, is one of China's most famous wine-producing regions .

Life at Kunyu Mountain Kung Fu School extends far beyond martial arts training. In addition to studying traditional Chinese Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation, our international students are encouraged to explore local traditions, communicate with people from different backgrounds, and gain a deeper understanding of everyday life in China.

A student representative delivered a speech during the event, sharing experiences of studying traditional Chinese martial arts.

Kunyu Mountain Kung Fu School is located in Yantai, a beautiful coastal city in eastern China known for its pleasant climate, long history, scenic coastline, and rich cultural heritage. The region is home to Kunyu Mountain, widely associated with the origins of Quanzhen Taoism, and is also connected with the famous legend of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea.

Yantai is also recognized as one of China’s most important wine-producing regions and a major birthplace of the country’s modern wine industry. Its coastal environment, international character, and celebrated wine culture made this event a meaningful opportunity for our students to experience another distinctive side of the city in which they live and train.

During the event, students met guests from different countries, enjoyed cultural conversations, experienced regional food and wine traditions, and formed new friendships in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. These activities allow students to connect their martial arts journey with a broader experience of Chinese history, culture, and society.

At Kunyu Mountain Kung Fu School, we believe that studying Kung Fu is more than learning physical techniques. It is also a journey of cultural discovery, personal growth, mutual understanding, and international friendship.
