Why did I choose China to study Kung Fu?
I chose China to study Kung Fu because I wanted to challenge myself and refocus on myself. My goal was to discover how far my body could go. Through traditional Shaolin Kung Fu training, I realized that my limits were much further than I had imagined.
What is your greatest gain from your martial arts training?
My greatest gain was learning to embrace discomfort. Even during physically demanding training, I continued to push myself and give my best. This experience strengthened my discipline, resilience, and confidence.
Who influenced and helped you during your time at the academy?
Besides Shifu and the coaches, Dylan, Mohamed, Khadin, and many other students helped me throughout my journey. Whether practicing Sanda, forms, or Tai Chi, everyone encouraged me to improve and become better every day. I sincerely thank them all for their support.
Brief summary of my experience at the academy
My experience at the academy was truly rewarding. The teachers are highly skilled and always encouraged me to improve. Personally, I think some training sessions could gradually become even more challenging as students progress, and maintaining discipline—such as being punctual—is an important part of martial arts. I would also like to thank the translators, whose support made it much easier to understand the teachers' instructions. The optional Chinese language and massage classes were excellent and fully met my expectations.
What do you think about the surroundings of the academy?
The academy is surrounded by beautiful mountains and peaceful nature. The quiet environment allows students to stay focused and supports both physical training and mental well-being.
