Why did I choose China to study Kungfu? 

 I originally chose China because martial arts taught in the west all originated in the east, and I wanted to learn directly from the source. My motivation to return to school was my life back home. I began to lack purpose and discipline, both of which are abundant at kunyu Mountain. 

 What is your greatest gain from your martial arts training? 

 There are many beautiful gains achieved after a couple months of training here. Every student will achieve strength, flexibility, speed, and discipline. Although by for the greatest gain I received was the amazing human connections make with the excellent masters, friendly translators, and life long friendships. I will maintain with my fellow students. 

 Who influenced and helped you :

 The greatest influence in my training was of course my Shifu. When I think I have reached my limit, he pushes me past it and the more I train with him, the more I realize how few limits I have. My biggest help in training were two fellow students, Alice and Giorgia. The three of us learned staff together and all succeeded thanks to each other’s help and support. 

Brief summary of my experience in the academy: 

Daily life at the school is filled with good energy, strong kungfu spirit, and a training schedule that balances a variety of martial arts with just enough down time to rest and recover for the next day. Each master is knowledgeable in so many forms of martial arts, there is an endless amount you can learn from them. 

The translator are so friendly and kind, they get along with everybody, and always have a smile on their face. Whilst my favorite aspect of daily life is training hard with fellow students, who feel like extended family, then sharing meals and relaxing together after a tough day.

Surroundings of the academy: The school itself is perfectly surrounded by beautiful mountains in every direction, with an abundance of fresh water and plenty of fruit trees all around. 

There are many nearby mountain temples which are perfect for weekend visits. Otherwise a weekend trip to city of yantai is perfect with friends, where you can enjoy nice restaurants, beaches, and beautiful tourist attractions such as the lighthouse, museums, and the old city.

 Why did I choose China to study Kung fu?

 Chose to study in china as I was already in china at the time and really liked it. Also wanted to study kungfu in the country it was from for a more authentic experience. 

 What is your greatest gain :

 I have improved my discipline and routine, as well as my overall fitness and energy levels. 

Who influenced and helped you during your period in the academy? I was helped primarily by my shifu, but also gained a lot of knowledge from fellow students in my group. Especially more experienced students such as Christian and Georgia who helped me to learn forms. 

Brief summary : Overall experience was very good.
